Service 04 · Telehealth Monitoring

Telehealth Monitoring for recovery anywhere.

You are recovering far from regular review, or you have flown home after surgery overseas. The people who operated are far away, and so is regular review. A clinician runs your monitoring plan by video and, with your consent, keeps your GP and surgeon in the loop. Care begins with a real-time video or phone consultation.

Recovery concerns

Returning home doesn't mean recovery is finished.

Many patients return to Australia with recovery still in progress and little local follow-up.

  • Recovery concerns
  • Questions about healing progress
  • Difficulty accessing follow-up care
  • Uncertainty about next steps
  • Symptoms they expected to settle

Baseline Medical provides ongoing medical oversight once you are home, so distance does not leave a gap in your recovery. An assessment does not diagnose a condition or guarantee a particular outcome.

The protocol

The baseline monitoring protocol.

Who this is for

People recovering from surgery overseas who want ongoing medical oversight after returning home.

  • Weekly clinician check-ins
  • Recovery monitoring and follow-up
  • Personalised recovery planning
  • Ongoing clinical support
  • Access to prescription treatment options once back in Australia, if deemed medically appropriate by your doctor
What's included

Clinical monitoring, delivered by video.

Recovery monitoring plan

Your monitoring plan is set up and reviewed by a clinician, delivered over video. Telehealth complements your in-person care. It does not replace a hands-on assessment.

Scheduled video check-ins

Recovery reviews with a clinician at clear check-in points, by real-time video or phone.

Care coordination from anywhere

With your consent, we share updates with your local GP, surgeon and physio so everyone stays informed.

Recovery reassessment

For patients flying home after overseas surgery, a clinical review of how your recovery is tracking and a plan from here.

Reach your clinician between reviews

Have a recovery question between visits? Message your clinician for guidance. They can advise whether it needs further review.

Local-care coordination

If hands-on care is needed, we help you find and brief a local provider so your monitoring stays consistent.

Common questions.

Telehealth Monitoring

Sometimes. Telehealth is not suitable for every recovery concern. Your clinician may recommend in-person assessment, for example if an area needs hands-on review. We tell you in advance when that applies and help you find a suitable local provider. Care begins with a real-time video or phone consultation.

Yes. This is one of the main reasons people come to us. We can begin before you fly, review your recovery while you are abroad, then reassess when you return to Australia. We coordinate with your local providers, with your consent.

We run scheduled recovery reviews with a clinician over time, rather than a single video visit. The structure means your questions reach a clinician at clear points through recovery. Individual results vary based on your circumstances, and monitoring does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Anywhere. Our consultations run by video and phone, so you can be monitored from any state. If a hands-on assessment is needed, your clinician will tell you and help you arrange a local in-person review.

A phone or computer with a camera, and a quiet, private spot. We send the link beforehand and talk you through it if it is your first time.

Yes, with your consent. We can share updates with your GP, surgeon or other treating doctors, so your care stays joined up while you recover at home.

Get Started

Your recovery deserves a medical process.

Book your initial consultation. You leave with a clear recovery plan and one clinician guiding the weeks ahead.

Recovery timeframes and outcomes vary based on your individual circumstances. Monitoring does not guarantee a particular outcome. Baseline Medical supplements your in-person surgical and medical care. It does not replace your surgeon, GP, or emergency services.

If you have severe pain, high fever, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty, or signs of a serious complication, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

From the day after your operation to the day you are genuinely well. Recovery, supervised.
