How It Works

A consultation, a plan, and a clinician from day one.

The weeks after surgery or injury are not a waiting period. Baseline Medical follows a clear three-step process, mapped across four phases of recovery monitoring.

How it works

How to get started

What brings you to Baseline?

Select all that apply:

Post-surgery recovery
Injury rehabilitation
Telehealth monitoring
Recovery reassessment

Step 1

Start with a few questions

Tell us a little about your surgery or injury. It takes a couple of minutes, with no commitment to begin.

Your plan, mapped together.

Step 2

Your first consultation

Meet your clinician on a real-time video or phone consultation. Together, you map out your recovery plan and what to expect next.

Step 3

Ongoing care and monitoring

Your clinician reviews your progress at scheduled check-ins and adjusts your plan as your recovery changes. You know what to watch for, and we are here between appointments.

Recovery Timeline

The four clinical phases of a Baseline Medical recovery.

1 Getting started

Phase 01

Initial Consultation

In a real-time video or phone consultation, a clinician reviews your procedure, your situation, and your recovery goals. You leave with a clear recovery plan and your next steps mapped out.

2 Early recovery

Phase 02

Early Recovery

Scheduled check-ins, guidance on comfort and at-home care, and clear signs to watch for. If something needs attention, we help you reach the right care.

3 Later recovery

Phase 03

Getting Back to It

Recovery reviews, scar and tissue check-ins, and guidance on progressing safely alongside your physio and GP. Timeframes vary based on individual assessment.

4 Wrapping up

Phase 04

Review & Handover

A final review, a documented record of your check-ins, and, with your consent, a handover summary for your surgeon and GP.

What's included

Recovery support in one practice.

01

Telehealth-first

Most check-ins happen by video, so you don't need to travel for a short review. Telehealth is not suitable for every concern. Your clinician may recommend in-person assessment, urgent care, GP review, specialist referral, further investigation, or no treatment, depending on your circumstances.

02

Scheduled check-ins

Your recovery is reviewed at clear check-in points across the weeks ahead.

03

Reachable between reviews

You can reach a clinician for recovery questions during business hours, without waiting for the next visit.

04

Surgeon liaison

With your consent, we coordinate with your surgical team so you don't have to.

05

A documented record

Your check-ins are recorded for your records and, with your consent, for your surgeon's.

Getting Started

Ideally before. We map your recovery plan ahead of time so the first day of recovery is already mapped. That said, we can begin with you at any point during your recovery.

During Recovery

It depends on your procedure and how your recovery progresses. We set out your check-in points at your first consultation, and we can review you sooner if something needs attention. For anything urgent, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Recovery, supervised.

Baseline Medical supplements your in-person surgical and medical care. It does not replace your surgeon, GP, or emergency services.

Recovery timeframes and outcomes vary based on your individual circumstances. Monitoring does not guarantee a particular outcome.

If you have severe pain, high fever, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty, or signs of a serious complication, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
