Recovery & Protocols
Your plan maps your recovery as a clear sequence: the phases to expect, the scheduled check-in points along the way, and the signs that mean you should be reviewed sooner. It is set up before recovery begins, so each stage has a clear reference point. Individual results vary based on your circumstances.
Your GP looks after your general health and any acute issues. Baseline Medical focuses on the recovery period itself: setting up your monitoring plan, reviewing your progress on a schedule, and keeping a clear record across the weeks after your procedure. We work alongside your GP, with your consent, not instead of them.
We review your recovery on a schedule and give you clear signs to watch for between check-ins. If something needs attention, we help you reach the right care and, with your consent, coordinate with your surgeon, GP or other treating doctor. For anything urgent, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
An experienced clinician runs your plan and stays your point of contact across the recovery window. You are followed by someone who knows your case, rather than a different person at each check-in. Recovery needs and timeframes vary based on individual circumstances.
Your check-in schedule is set by your procedure and how your recovery is tracking. We agree the timing at your first consultation and adjust it if your needs change.
No. We supplement your in-person surgical and medical care. We do not replace your surgeon, GP, physio or emergency services. We hold the recovery picture and coordinate between your providers, with your consent.
We give you a clear list of signs to watch for and a clinician to check with between reviews. We do not diagnose by message. Where something needs assessing, your clinician reviews it with you and points you to the right care.
We keep a structured record of your check-ins, your reported symptoms and your progress. Every review then has a reference point, and we can share a clear summary with your other providers, with your consent.
Yes. Your plan is set up before recovery begins and reviewed as you go. If your recovery changes, the plan changes with it. Recovery timeframes and outcomes vary based on your individual circumstances.
We watch for early signs and help you reach the right care promptly. We cannot operate over video. Our focus is structured oversight and a clear escalation path, so concerns are identified and you are directed to the right care promptly.
Getting Started
Ideally before. We set up your plan ahead of time so the first day of recovery is already mapped. That said, we can begin with you at any point during your recovery.
It depends on your procedure and how your recovery progresses. We set this out with you at your first consultation. We do not fix an arbitrary length of time.
No referral is required. You can book your initial consultation directly. We coordinate with your existing medical team as needed, with your consent.
Your first consultation is a real-time consultation with a clinician, by video or phone. You talk through your procedure, your history and your concerns. From there we map your recovery plan.
No. A short intake form helps us prepare. It does not replace the consultation and it does not produce a plan on its own. Your plan follows a real-time consultation with a clinician.
Start your recovery assessment through the website, or contact us directly. We confirm a consultation time that suits you. No referral is needed.
Bring any operation or discharge notes, a list of your medications, and the questions on your mind. If you do not have your notes yet, we go ahead and gather what we can.
Yes. Pre-surgery planning is a practical time to start. We map your recovery plan in advance, so the first days afterwards are already set out.
Yes, with their involvement. The person recovering needs to take part in the consultation, so the clinician can assess them directly and gain their consent.
You can still start. We pick up from where you are, review your progress and set the plan for the rest of your recovery window.
Telehealth & International
Yes. Our telehealth monitoring is designed for Australians recovering at home, including those returning from surgery overseas. We provide recovery reviews by video and phone and coordinate with your local providers, with your consent.
Baseline Medical is a telehealth service, available Australia-wide by video and phone. Telehealth is not suitable for every concern. If a hands-on assessment is needed, your clinician will tell you and help you arrange a local in-person review.
Your consultations run by video or phone at a booked time. You speak with your clinician directly. You only need a phone or computer with a camera.
A clinician can review a lot by video and structured questions, including how a wound or joint is tracking over time. Where a hands-on exam is needed, your clinician arranges in-person assessment. Telehealth is not suitable for every concern.
Where possible and with your consent, we request your operation notes and contact your overseas provider. Where they cannot be reached, we work from the information you have and your clinical picture here in Australia.
We tell you plainly when that is the case. Your clinician may recommend in-person review, your GP, a specialist referral, further investigation or urgent care, depending on your circumstances.
Our telehealth consultations are designed for Australians recovering at home. We can plan ahead while you are still away, then begin reviews once you are back.
Use the local medical care available to you, and contact the provider who performed your surgery. We can begin reviewing you once you are home.
Your information is handled under Australian privacy and health record standards. We explain how your data and any images are stored in our privacy policy.
Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you have severe pain, high fever, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty or signs of a serious complication, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Pricing & Costs
Your care is priced per plan, set out by phase. We quote it in writing after your first consultation, so you have the total cost up front.
Some parts of your care may attract a Medicare rebate, depending on your situation. We flag the relevant items in your written quote. We also provide itemised invoices for private health claims where they apply.
We quote your care in writing after your first consultation, once your plan is mapped. You have the total before you commit to ongoing care.
Your care is priced per plan, set out by phase, rather than as separate one-off appointments. Your written quote shows what each phase covers.
Yes. The initial consultation has its own fee. We confirm that cost before you book.
There is no hidden subscription. Your written quote sets out what you pay and when. If your plan changes, we tell you before the cost changes.
Recovery is the part many people underbudget. A plan gives you a structured process across the weeks when most questions come up. Having oversight in place means you are not managing concerns alone or without a clear path forward.
Yes. We provide itemised invoices so you can claim with your private health fund where your policy allows.
If you need to reschedule, let us know ahead of time. Our cancellation terms, including any fee, are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
You only commit to ongoing care after your first consultation and written quote. If the service is not a good fit, your clinician will tell you.
